We’ve Got Your Back

Returning with impact, for both people and organization

We’ve Got Your Back is Oh My People’s pillar focused on return to work and reintegration after long-term absence. We support employees, leaders, teams and organisations before, during and after the return: from prevention and reintegration policy to a sustainable return to work, all within the Belgian legal framework.

Returning after long-term sick leave is more than just picking a date

It is a process that requires structure, honest conversations and a culture without taboos. And in reality, it starts on day one, long before anyone drops out of work. With the right agreements and support, tailored to every stage of the process, no one has to face it alone.

Return to work is also where many organisations get stuck, because they only understand one side of the conversation. We know both the care context and the business context from the inside, and deliberately bridge the gap between the two.

Stricter guaranteed pay legislation also means that responding quickly and effectively when someone drops out of work now has a direct financial benefit for employers. A strong reintegration policy shortens absences, reduces legal risks and strengthens trust in the organisation. And the way you treat people who have been absent tells new talent more about who you are as an employer than any job advert ever could.

Returning to work yourself?
Starting again after a long absence is not always straightforward. Through the Back to Work Fund you can access professional, tailored support that takes your situation, energy levels and pace into account. As a recognised service provider, Oh My People guides you step by step towards work that is sustainable and right for you.

Return to work on four levels

Anyone returning to work never does so alone.

Organisation

The question we ask

How many employees in your organisation go on long-term absence each year, and how many of them return sustainably?

What Oh My People offers

We help you build a reintegration policy within the legal framework: a policy people believe in, rather than a box-ticking exercise.

Leadership

The question we ask

Do your leaders know how to approach an employee on long-term absence, both before and after their return?

What Oh My People offers

The training Leadership during long-term absence and successful return to work, combined with a peer learning programme.

Team

The question we ask

Is your team prepared for a colleague’s return, or do they only hear about it on the first day back?

What Oh My People offers

Reboarding interventions and a shared language, so the team itself becomes part of the first line of support.

Individual

The question we ask

When was the last time you asked an employee what they need to return to work, at their own pace?

What Oh My People offers

A personalised return-to-work programme for employees coming back after long-term absence, at their own pace and with attention to their individual needs and boundaries, either in-house or through the Back to Work Fund.

Frequently asked questions

What is a mandatory reintegration pathway?2026-07-17T13:14:30+00:00

A legal framework that allows employer and employee to jointly investigate whether and how work can be resumed in the event of long-term incapacity for work, possibly in an adapted or progressive manner. We help organizations transform that framework into supported policy instead of an administrative obligation.

What is progressive return to work?2026-07-17T13:14:43+00:00

A partial return to work during the period of incapacity for work, while retaining a portion of the benefits and with the approval of the advising physician. It allows employees to return at their own pace.

Why does acting quickly pay off in cases of absenteeism?2026-07-17T13:14:56+00:00

Wage guarantee legislation has become stricter: employers are responsible for a portion of the wages during absence for a longer period. Providing swift and high-quality guidance shortens the duration of absence and leads to direct savings. We would be pleased to confirm the current regulations during a consultation.

How quickly can you respond in an acute situation?2026-07-17T13:15:11+00:00

Immediately: instant confirmation of receipt, personal contact within 48 hours, and an initial consultation within a week. Our experts are located throughout Belgium.

How do you reintegrate an employee after long-term illness or burnout?2026-07-17T13:15:28+00:00

Through a reintegration pathway that begins with a consultation between employer, employee, and occupational physician, resulting in a modified or progressive return-to-work plan. Oh My People provides substantive guidance throughout this process: from the initial agreements to sustainable anchoring in the workplace.
